But I’m almost out because I rarely need it.

But I have to clean a room that the customer’s kid used a ton of Fabuloso and baking soda on in an attempt to clean up after a weekend party. It’s loaded up.

Any homemade defoamers that actually work?

If you haven't presprayed the other rooms yet, turn off your chem feed if running detergent through it and spray these rooms with a rinse or rubbing alcohol.
Clean these rooms before returning to the problem room/area.
Consider switching back and forth between the two regions until the problem area is cleaned. This way, you are clearing the suds while still moving forward.
Stop and wait a bit whenever the air velocity through the wand diminishes.

I have a habit that I have developed over the years. I order more product whenever I use a particular product and notice I am running low.
Try not to be a moron.
I also have a habit I developed over the years, stop communicating with people who have one foot in the grave, that way you don’t miss them as much when both feet are in.

I hate to break the news to you but he actually died 2 years ago, it's been Darren Lumpkin ever since.

Your turn is next.

An old customer who has big dogs tries to stay on top of the dog oil by loading his old plush nylon with detergent from his Bissell. He calls me about once a year to "get the stripes out". I prespray with a solution of about 2 oz crystal defoamer per gallon of water (Don't need to add any more soap.), CBR it in, and flush with all fiber rinse.

BridgePoint/Interlink/Armsco used to sell a Foam Defense.. Basically spraying it on as you mentioned then rinsing.. I can't remember why Scott Warrington said they stopped selling it.. I still have 2 cases of it left..

I've only heard of defoamer products possibly damaging carpets but never experienced it.. Much like the Ozone machine and wet material.. I know anything's possible under the right circumstances..

Go get some rug doctor defoamer. They sell it where ever there is a rug doctor.
They don't sell defoamer anymore. At least not in Canada. I do warranty work for rug Doctor, they claim their detergent doesn't foam. I asked the manager of our local franchise, what about pre-existing detergent in the carpet? He didn't know what I was talking about.
