in your experience, how many people call the next company on the list rather than leave a message and hope for a call back, these days?

Not many, we miss a lot of calls bc there is only one of us answering at any given time, most leave messages or book online

It's difficult to know for sure, And I don't care.

I'm not out to bet my competitors on price. I'm out to bet them on quality.

However, I have sort of a delimia. I haven't really advertise or reached out to my past and long over due clients in over 2 years.
Should I advertise when my schedule seems to fill up anyway.? Our client mix is 20% New and 80% Repeat.

How would anyone really know?
I call back missed calls and only once in a great while is it a customer. Maybe 5 or 6 a year just guessing.
So 50% lol.
I'm waiting at Walmart for new tires on the van.

Just this morning a lady called me on my new business line for the VLM only business I just started. Before I can pull the phone out of my pocket and draw a breath to answer it, it stops ringing. My regular business phone starts ringing, same number. She wanted a mobile home cleaned today and absolutely couldn’t wait. I’m booked solid until nearly October.

Unless it is a referral, I think a lot of people just go down the list. It’s an instant gratification, microwave ready culture these days.

I don't do last minute jobs usually. Always seem to have other issues.

easy. once I check messages on my answering machine, I go through the caller ID for the day. Reason I do this is to verify the phone number that was left on the message as I cant always understand what people say on the message. So when I go through the caller ID, I can also see who else called (in my area code which eliminates spam callers). Not many dont leave a message from what I see.

Good topic.

If your owner op- and busy - The water overflowing the bucket is not worth the chase. Like apple guy said.. "they have to chase me down"

If EFFICIENT multi truck OP, you monitor and track. You manage, no drop lost. A great OM

To answer the question, depends on service
