Well the Judson finally broke down on the job this morning. Thankfully it was 5 minutes from the house, so I swapped the van for the box truck with all my VLM stuff. The Phoenix saved the day!

The carpet was clean and nicely fluffed up, smelled great. The lady loved how it turned out and how quickly we got the job done.

Why do I have a truckmount again?

Ask again when you have to haul the Phoenix up 3 flights of stairs.

Even though it broke down do you recommend one? I've been looking to get one for awhile now.

Yeah, I’d recommend one.

They’re built like a tank, simple to maintain and operate.

This one has a motor someone else installed at some point before I got it. It came with a diesel (I think…) and the previous owner installed a Briggs 2LC liquid cooled. It had a coil failure and the head gasket on one side was slightly blown. The head gasket thing is common on the 2LC.

My only complaint is that it has a wide footprint in the van, but it’s a 100 gallon waste tank too.

Thanks for the replay. This is exactly what i'm after. I want something I can fix if things stop working.

For about $5000 less you can get a comparable TCS that's just as simple but without a stainless steel waste tank. It will take up less space than the Judson.

Judson has a place down in your neck of the woods though. As a matter of fact, when I priced the Judson they were going to charge me shipping to have it sent from the FL. location to the SC location. Go figure. I went with TCS and it's been running strong for 5 years.

All things equal, Judson would be better. Simple physics. Judson input is lower and no blower restriction. 🤔

After looking at the finned heat exchanger and the coiled heat exchanger in these newer machines, there’s not much restriction to matter. The air goes through it just fine
