I would never own a business in Thailand, despite having a home there.
The Thai partners, who own 51% of the company, often vote the Farang out of their business.
Good luck

I lived in Thailand for a year 1973-1974. I was stationed there in the coast guard .in Sattahip on the gulf of Siam shooting loran signals so the air force could bomb Vietnam. I lived the life of a Jimmy Buffet album cover. It was another time and a great time and place to be 20!

Then I'm afraid despite you having a home here you know nothing about business in the country. I 've owned this particular company 28 years and no one could ''vote me out'' of anything. Americans by the way can own a company 100% but being American you ought to already know that. For us Brits there are other secure safe ways to ensure you always have control of your own assets.

You must be married to a thai national. It's my understanding that foreigners are not allowed to own property there, at least thats the way it was

You can 100% own a condominium of any size in your own name, no need to be married to a Thai. A house with land on the other hand is impossible own in your name. As an American you can own 100% of your own business, no need to be married to a Thai. In theory that business can include property with certian conditions.
