There are edging tools for that.I've seen some techs remove the glide regularly, even well manufactured Greenglides, to get closer to a very soiled edge.
I’ve never cleaned a carpet so bad That I felt the need to remove the glide. And I’ve done some crime scene worthy carpets.
Oh, I knowyou don't know what you don't know.
Unglided wand cleans cut pile (in particular dense/quality cut pile) deeper/better
I read this thread wrong though.
I was reading
"do you take your glide off to clean it" (the glide)
we didn't clean with the Ti unglided.
(with the exception of side by side evaluations I've done)
Too much of a man killer to push w/o glide for whole jobs .
for ungliged, we'd grab the flush monster floodjet Steamway wand
(or AW29 if jet distortion was a concern )
or just roto scrub it first

I haven't found that unglided wands clean any better. I think that's more of an illusion because it's harder to push. A glided wand is so much easier to pass repeatedly over a particular spot or traffic area.you don't know what you don't know.

That sounded mEEn
It wasn't meant to be a dig, I promise .
Just that when I hear so many tell me a scrub with pixie dust looks better without the rinse, I'm forced to conclude they don't know what great is and looks like
