Why does everyone use the 10" crb rather than 15"?
Wouldn't the wider width speed things up a bit?
Yes we're ready to buy one.
Or the other.

Because the 10-in gets used by technicians because you can one-hand it along with your hoses when you're going in the house it fits between most furniture better works perfectly on stair treads and the only time it's a disadvantage is when you're trying to pre-scrub a whole room that's 200 ft or bigger My guys in Santa Cruz had all sizes and they only used the 10s by their own will and Marty's just a dopey idiot and a shady carpet cleaner

which one are you most likely to use?
I had the 20 inch and sold it.
The 10 is great on stairs and easy to carry- so it gets used.
I'll use the 10 CRB on lightly trashed carpets or small super trashed areas.
I'll use the 360i on larger trashed areas.

A rotary takes most of the work out of the job. Plus it's hard to compete with the results. It's tough to make enough passes with a wand to compare with what a rotary can deliver.

At the end of the day when you're beat but you still have jobs left, a rotary will keep your work consistent.

Why kill yourself when you can let a machine do most of the work?

Rotary leaves carpet too wet. You have to wand afterwards. Guarantee four wand passes is the same as 700 rotary passes. A zipper will flush better than a rotary, and you don’t need to wand after a zipper. A rotary will damage carpets. You have to try pretty dang hard to damage a carpet with a wand or zipper. In cases that a carpet is so trashed that a rotary is the only option you rarely get paid enough to go through the trouble to save a carpet that needs ripping out.

After viewing the excellent replies, my son Matt just bought a 15" from Rick.
He also bought a SS wand from GG's last week.
We're trying to break into the top 20%ers

We are more interested in using for open areas, not stairs.
I use mine often on high traffic areas. I don't need to get inbetween furniture as the carpets aren't dirty there usually. A quick prespray, a quick scrub then start rinsing. Makes an incredible difference. I often have customers say, "I've never seen the carpet so clean before". I have to tell them I haven't cleaned it yet, that's just the scrubbing.

If its leaving it wetter, the operator needs to make additional dry passes. It's not faster, just easier than a scrub wand.

Given a choice I'd chose a Zipper Spinner everytime. I like that I don't have to worry about a power cord.

I think it has the same advantages over a scrub wand that the rotary does. Along with the benefits of drier, and no cord too.

I zero regret with my 10" CRB. If i buy again, it will be 10 again and then 15 inch.
I never use my 15 anymore. I think the shorter width digs in just a little better. The 15 gets bouncy a lot too.

No to the super spinner. No to a rotary. You don’t need that much water to clean carpet. It’s a wasted effort.

As I’ve said before, the 10” get behind toilets in most school restrooms. For restroom tile and grout, 10” is king. Wide open areas in commercial 15 is king. Don’t disagree with the zipper if I’m extracting. But a lot of time Cimex is king😀

Save your money on CRB’s and rotary extractors. PreVac and dwell time is all you need.
Except neglected carpet that was never vacuumed or commercial entry carpet that has heavy sand.

I don’t use it on every job, but it is needed to have on the truck
