Potential Client sent me a Facebook message and pic of this sectional couch....

Am I missing something here as to it's cleanability with good old HWE style with low moisture tools?

Hopefully you can all see when I post these screen shot pics....

Of course the client is thinking "S" clean only as told by someone....somewhere....

Advice if I am missing something here I am not seeing in the pics, etc....or my brain is out to lunch on Butyl.....

@Jim Pemberton

Thanks,

Please.
Use the same old tool you've been posting about, pretty much non stop, for at least the last six (and who's counting) months :winky:.

Zipety will do just fine on it, with incredible drying time.

Do charge more for the "S" label. It should pay to live dangerously.

If you do have to replace it, as usual please send the bill to my deputy, the grass growth watcher, from Topeka- http://www.chavezrestoration.com/about-us/

Of course the client is all concerned, and I told her, polyester has been a pretty easy material to clean....but I have a few people in this industry I am networked with I will pass it by them in case I am not seeing something :)

But sure are enjoying the comments.... :)

More comments appreciated :icon_cool:

Polyester should be as strait forward as can be. Just check the backing and make sure there are no markers that can bleed through.
I know from some manufactures will place a "S" or "D" instead of a "W" clean because they are unsure of the fabric themselves. This way they are safe in the cleaning recommendation.
If you are totally unsure, do a test patch.

here is my concern-- Polyester is handwritten... but just out of view from the photo it looks like it mentions 2 types of leather.?

I think the Tag mentions many different types of cleanings for different types of fabrics -- the tag may be a "shopping list" and then you just have to match the proper cleaning method to the proper fabric..
so investigate more.

Good comments

The handwritten comment that it's polyester is mostly likely a reference to another tag that identifies the material used UNDER the fabric.

You won't know anything useful about this material until you inspect and test it yourself.

Hey....my brother Dave Saiger is here!!!! :)

Totally stoked to see this....

Now if we can get my other Brother Kirk Saiger posting.... :)

(I know Marty is thinking @hogjowl ...no way...no...no...no....LOL)

Dave, get your butt over here and do this beast of a couch for me :)

And ladies and gentleman...Dave Saiger is a wealth of knowledge....

Really hope he can post more as he is one of those hidden gems I have learned a lot from!

He is our middle brother out of the 3 of us....former undercover cop (drug dog trainer too) .... as well as the carpet cleaner like we all grew up doing....

Really great to see him here! (he will be ok Marty) :)

The photo doesn't look polyester, it looks like more of a blend. If its is what I think it is its still wet cleanable. Kind of a herringbone pattern?

I'd probably treat it as a blend just to be safe.

From here it looks like a candidate for dry foam cleaning. It also looks like a pic of new furniture so you have no info about soil, etc found in its current condition.

Just curious, how much would you charge for cleaning that football field size sofa, Mark?

And don't forget to load the video of adorable son in law walking on the sofa with the Zippety :winky: :very_drunk:.

P.S. and this is a candidate for best advise of the year: This is the best music to listen to while Zippeting the sofa.
It's one of them thingies you'd never get at a cleaning class, cause you just wouldn't believe the productivity:

Mark how did you calculate the price?

Bit of linear foot, and close to our current pricing which is about 25% higher than everyone else around here....so I looked at it as comparable to a Love seat, corner wedge piece, love seat, large chase lounge....and added up our total prices...and padded it a bit too...just in case....

All the locals quoted here $200....

But Mark...................you are........the only ..........one..........up.........there.
You have no competition. Maybe some janitor using a POS portable but no one ...............else.
If you lived in a big city you'd have to contend with hundreds of hacks.

So you basically can name your price now : )
