2nd job called and postponed this morning because it was raining out.:frown: WTF. It's not raining in. Whatever. It was a large job so I was able to do a commercial job that was going to be in 2 weeks. Large banquet room. Ran emulsifier (Esteem CBS, love that stuff) through a HF then to 100' of Parflex at 600 psi to the 360i.

No prevac,no prespray, except some Flex at the 2 kitchen entrances. Pretty much effortless, certainly compared to the times I used the 175 and Ti wanded the place. Results were superb.
Lot of gum and wax which I was able to remove with the 360i after a quick squirt of Strike solvent (great smelly stuff) which I had transferred into an AllSolve squirt bottle and had in my pocket.

The chairs in the corner await my ministrations (a 2 day hump job)

I'd love to see the guy at work. I guarantee its special.

I LOVE the 360i in residential but 6K ft.² is a LOT of carpet!

Teach me your ways Art...

Never thought of using a hydroforce that way? You must have it metered way down from stock? Interesting, how often did you have to fill it up?

This room is 100 X 100 and I've cleaned it every year. Wanding it, even with the glided Ti wand, is quite a workout. I used the RX-20 on it when I got it in 92 but it was slow and I still needed to 175 it so I went back to wanding. Using the 360i these last few years was a revelation. It's fast on relatively clean areas, as fast as you can walk, and on some areas I could go over 3000 sq'/hr. In the rough areas I was probably at 1K/hr. One of the maintenance men asked me if they made these machines larger. LOL. The XL model would probably be more appropriate but this 12" model is what I have and it works well and goes plenty fast.

How did you meter the chem @Art Kelley
I have a bunch of inline sprayers and they all seem to work differently. This one meters out at about 1-12 even with no tip. The one I use mostly while spraying down PS is 1-4. On this job I used my TM and this HF use for metering emulsifier at 1-12 was working at 600 psi while my normal 1-4 HF won't work beyond 500 psi. None of them while work if the water is over 200 degrees.

I didn't expect to do this job yesterday so all I had on the truck was a 5 qt jug. I had to refill it maybe 5 times. It has a longer draw tube so I could have used a 5 gal bucket, but I wanted to see the jug drawing down as I worked because this method of applying rinse product doesn't always work. I normally use FWR while cleaning after applying PS but I wanted to one step this job.

Art often cleans at Tap pressure..
Tap pressure wouldn't have been enough to run through the HF to spray the 360i jets. By itself tap pressure will make a full spray on the 360i but the HF restricts the flow way down to a trickle unless you turn the pressure up past 500 psi.

It's not that they're inconsistent, it's just that they change after a few years of use. They all start at 1-9 with a tip and 1-4 without yellow tip. But after a few years of use and a few thousand jobs, that proportion can change, and that's why you need to periodically do a bucket test so you know what you are spraying at any given time. I mark mine with a marker. But they last forever; I don't throw mine out but just replace the inexpensive parts that go bad. Some of them are 30 years old. No other spray system has that reliability. Pumpups and battery sprayers get tossed after a few years.

Nice job, Art!

I'm surprised you find the 360i so much faster than the RX-20. What do you think the difference is? BTW, I would likely opt for the Zipper on that job over rotary extraction.

I had the old slow speed RX-20, plus the 360i swoop heads are more aggressive than the Rx-20. A zipper would be faster there for sure but you would still need some rotary work on some areas.

Yes yes you have! Now 240 degrees is another story! But generally you have to have close to 200 plus atw to see it effect the sprayer.

I usually spray at 500-600 psi through mine.

I've presprayed with the HF @ 400psi and the 5 quart jug empties way too fast.... I run with no tip 1-4..... I normally prespray at 250psi with mines.... I have J.B. temp gauge that I connect on the end of my solution line.... Once the temp on the gauge hits 190-200, you can hear the difference and not draw chem.... I've also noticed that the higher the psi you prespray, the wetter and longer it takes to dry.....

there is info that I've seen that says to create the vacuum to pull the rinse out of the jug requires a pressure drop of about 65%

so when you use one at 400 psi the real pressure out the gun is around 140. if you use the same formula then Art was using about 200 psi for his rotovac. but since his sprayer is deformed more maybe is was 220 to 250 psi.

a rotovac widetrack is made to cover large areas. it is two 360i heads put together. it is on their website.
