Heading out to clean soon....

When the sun comes up usually get's colder for a while.

Brothers are already at -31 degrees below....

This ought to be fun! .....NOT!

-2 right now. Got a couple apartments to do after the walk in VA for a sinus and ear infection. Streets are covered with ice. Only about a foot on the ground here.

Work goes on.

75% of the people in the horrible state of New Jersey don't want there carpets cleaned if it's 29 above zero.

Only 3 below with a wind chill of 18 below in upstate NY. Still managed to make $365 in three hours. Using moving blankets to keep hoses from freezing. I have been home for a hour and my hands are still cold.

Woke up to make coffee and had no water. I did everything I could to convince myself the pipes weren't frozen. Even as far as I'm too broke for the water bill to auto pay out of my account, but alas it was frozen pipes. It reached -19 last night and I opened cupboards and let the faucets drip. It was -5 when I put on coveralls and spent 4 hours with a hair dryer thawing out pipes. THEN my dumbass plugged in the heating element at the main shut off :hopeless:, and installed heating tape and new insulation from the meter to the main shut off.

"Hel" is a cold place in Norse mythology. Most of those Minnesotans are Norwegian or Swedish, so there you go....
Thats what my daddy said! He was borned and raise Minot, ND. All my family on Daddy side is Norwegians. Friggin cold, according to him. When he moved to Reno, he was always calling it a sweater weather.

They stop
-13 when I headed out to work this morning. You just learn to roll with it since it's part of doing business in this part of the country.

We have cleaned in the - 20's in the past, not fun but ya got to do what ya got to do. The bills don't stop because it's cold.

I still have to clean restaurants and apartments. Always amazes me how many people move around the holidays. It does look like I might have 4 or 5 days off in a row though, I hope.

Mark, in your area...how many other carpet cleaners are actively working?

By the way, good job on staying alive in this business. I'd fail miserably in that weather
