Cleaning customers are a lot more formerly educated and "worldly wise" than ever before. I get a number of calls from people double checking on things they were told by their carpet cleaner, and I never cease to be amazed at how much more research consumers do about cleaning today than they did even ten years ago.

I'm not at all surprised that Mike's customer said "state of the art"...they ask and say things even more "industry specific" than that when they call me.

I think though that "autocorrect" made her look a little "dumb" with "dis repaired" when I'm sure she meant "despaired".

If Mikey had written it, he couldn't have resisted some inside "snark" somewhere in the message. He just can't help himself....

Actually, customers ask me all the time if we have state of the art, updated equipment because they have had cleaners show up in ratty trucks with a porty. Or the carpets were left too wet and researched how it could've happened.
It's amazing how many customers actually do their research and hire someone based on that research. I know I won't hire someone to come into my home without researching everything I can about them and what to expect.

I'm probably going to be crucified for saying this lol...but it's never stopped me before so here goes. For the first 3-4 years of cleaning carpet I used a 1.5 wand with a 25' whip hose, and did a great job cleaning carpet. I know it is not ideal in terms of air flow, but if you take your time and use good product, pre-agitate, heat, the works, it does just fine. I wish I could do it now as it's much easier to maneuver 1.5 hose. If only I could do it with the Zipper or at least the RV 360i.... Sigh.
