If I were to persue a Pro1200, Butler, Cleanco.....would the 4.8 ltr make much difference? I'm not to worried about power, won't be loading the van up too full. Seen some nice equipment at The Experience, and would like to get things in place for my Son to take over in a few years. Tired of slideins....I want more simplicity.

Any comments on the power factor??

I got the Pro-1200 and a 6 liters GMC. But I'm in San Francisco and having to climb the hills I would not consider a 4.8.

I was told I had to get the 6 liter. I figured hauling all of that weight with a 100 gallons of water was the reason.
Better to have too much power vs not having enough.

When I was looking for a van a few years ago, I was told that to get the 6.0 in a 2500 would be a special order. I believe all 1 tons came with the 6.0. I had a heck of a time finding a good used 1 ton at the time. There seems to be a lot 3/4 tons available, standard length.....

It all depends if your fully loaded and carrying a water tank going up and down hills. I can feel a bit of a difference between my 4.8, and 6.0. I dont have a fresh water tank either. The gas difference wasnt that big 12.2 mpg for 6.0 litre, 12.4 for the 4.8.

Since I swithched to the ss570 my mpg on 6.0 dropped to 11.8, I knew the sapphire used more gas than the 405.

Mine are both 3/4 standard's.
