OK wait....

Did you assume that the dog defecated on the carpet, or is that something otherwise inferred that you didn't put in the conversation?

Are they picking up the steamer themselves?

Pretty sure needs tomorrow means it probably looser then just a steamer, and needs professional help.

I hate when they have diarrhea, and work on it themselves.

Usually means wetting and sinking the stain into the back of the carpet.

I recommend arm and hammer sprinkle to absorb, solidifies and makes scrap up easier.

This is fascinating

When I was about 10, I witnessed two neighbor ladies screaming at each other, and alternately picking something up with paper towel and throwing it at each other.

As I drew near, I could tell that there was a blame game going on regarding whose dog deposited feces that had now become a source of pitch and not catch, but there was a return volley after each landing in the other yard.

I watched in horror and fascination as the unwanted material became smaller and more scattered, but each managed to quickly recover it and throw it with some accuracy near each other, and no longer just in the other's yard.

I beat a hasty retreat and went to my father to share to story.

Without looking up from his paper, he simply said:

"Just feel badly that the most interesting thing in their lives right now is dog sh*t"

I have carried that lesson over to many things of dispute in people's lives.
