Helping my mechanics on a thorny truck mount problem

Just finished up a two story residential that was packed to the gills with furniture and knickknacks. The elderly couple must’ve had the thermostat set on 85. Thankfully my son came with me or I would still be sweating myself to death.
After lunch, I’ll be sending out emails and making phone calls until I’ve had enough. Then I’ll spend the rest of the evening riding 3 wheelers with my son and feeding the fish in our pond.

Scheduled myself an appointment for a document signing at 3 0'clock on the other side of the county.
(So I could leave at 2, be done by 3:05 and not bother coming back to the office)

Flash flood went through a garage and into a 3rd car garage bedroom, she rents from family, helped with the down payment on the house for family.
They told her to get it fixed.
This is the second time is flooded.
Obvious mold on walls and base boards.
I told her I'll dry the carpet, I don't open walls.
So I moved furniture, pulled pad sprayed quatalot top and bottom.
Extracted and cleaned replaced furniture with tabs and blocks and dropped a airpath.
I'll go back tomorrow for moisture readings.
She's a 80 year old senior treated like shit by family.
I told her $200 she said no $300.
I'm a sucker for old people.

Ps I removed wet pad and sanitized top and back and sub surfaced one small area I could pull the pad.
It could be cat 3 from her dogs.
Hopefully Quatalot works.

Fresh how? Was it rain that came through the window?
or rising waters from outside flooding a previously water damaged room that has mold.....and dogs?
and you really shouldn't introduce air movement (like that) into a structure with mold......not only are you now blowing it around but you are increasing the humidity in the room
you couldn't pay me extra to do things wrong, even to help an old lady, when the possibility of me getting sued over it is nonzero
I may have offered to remove the carpet/pad and extract with a written recommendation that she contact a restoration/remediation company and documenting why I did/didn't do things

But I guess my solution is better then leaving it.
Ps it will be dry by tomorrow she's sleeping in another part of the house.

Is it though? The carpet should have been removed. Mold, dogs, furniture stains etc. Especially since it was a water intrusion so not likely a situation where insurance might have a say/delay the removal. Then there is no reason to introduce air movement (by you).
and I may be wrong but you weren't even dealing with the homeowners right? That increases the potential of you having issues.

I've cleaned there 5-6 times.
They had a previous flood and didn't deal with it.
I get the responsibility part.
And my wife tried to make her go away.
But remember this I have people skills.
If it bites me in the ass I'll let you know.
They choose not to go the insurance route.
Not me.
