Is anyone using plain old white vinegar on wool? I have heard that most of the neutralizers are 7% or 10% acetic acid. Vinegar may be a bit mild for removing tannin stains but why not use it a sour rinse? I Just wanted to get some opinions before I start using 5% acetic on wool rugs.

I'll use it when cleaning Oriental Rugs. On a wall tl wall install . I use a 7 to 8.5 ph depending . Than I will use a rinse like Matrix or Masterblend.

Dynachem FiberBrite is a stronger reducing agent than the acetic acid in vinegar.

pH is exactly correct for wool @ 5.5

The smell disappears quicker also.

Is there any problem with cleaning wool wall to wall with a neural cleaner and then just plain water? I've done it both ways and have never noticed a difference.

I just like to use a rinse for browning . I tend to do alot of pure white wool carpets that always seem to have a problem to it. But if you are cleaning them and they are just fine thats great. I know the ph of our water here in NC
is at 7. But I do believe the water is a little hard to .

Hydramaster makes a good rinse and it has a slight vinegar smell.
I'd prefer a TM friendly rinse with something to protect my pump other than vinegar.
