An Upholstery Wand Made by Kangaroos

Evening all.

Thought there may be a few laughs for you guys on the cutting edge to take a look at one of my upholstery wands.

I have an old school DriMaster which is great. But sometimes you just wanna flush bad ones.

So I have an enclosed spray tool made here Downunder.

It's called a SteamVac Vapourtec. It was originally shipped to market in the 80s and has been with us ever since.

It's a crude thing.

But it has a party trick. It cleans very well.

I am a rather slack bastard.

I bought the tool used. Cost me $150. They are $700 new.

I will try and clean the decal off tomorrow to appease your OCD.

Looks rough in design, I'd concerned about the sharp edges on the vacuum chamber. It "appears" fabric could get snagged there. Not a bad deal for $200.00 but $800.00? Yikes!

Good thing she cleans well!

U have days to the manufacturer that given the tool is excellent but 30 years old it could use revision.

Teflon plate, perhaps multiple jets, and a reduction in size if the moulding.

They seem reluctant to do much.

Shame it's a neat tool.

A productivity boon.

The steel plate is very good overall. When they get worn a replacement is $20.

The tool is locked to a maximum of 220 PSI. My porty is actually at the pressure threshold for the tool.

Guys with TMs just turn it down.

Mine is the hide a hose version. There is a cleaner version that you connect both the solution line and vacuum to externally. That's still $400 and some odd .

So they are expensive pieces if gear given the technology.

Yet a cheap used one is awesone. Great on mattresses and car interiors.

Pretty good on most upholstery.

That's that nasty moulds couch I cleaned that created a bit of a stir.

It just - gouges - soils out.

Grant don't say "gouges" when referring to cleaning with a sharp cleaning chamber.

Not to me. I would so much rather have the PMF internal jet. It's been a godsend for 15+ years.
