And Today's Porty Hack with a Rotovac.

Yesterday was an all dayer at a house. Lovely place. $700 day.

Happy with that.

Last weekend I was doing emergency extraction of standing water

I am honestly finding it pretty easy to accomplish.

It just smashes jobs.

The Rotovac and portable far and away from being a less than ideal pairing instead work super well.

The Rotovac is quite at home with the 220 PSI pressure. I have excellent heat and the two dual stage vac motors seem to lift water adequately. I pull 12 inches of mercury. I just am fairly conservative with the flow most of the time. I extract carpets at 6.5 on the speed controller and find this ideal for the pressure, flow and lift.

The heat and chemistry and agitation do the work and I just take my time and don't rush it.

On some poly carpets I let wicking help me.

Go over it, let it wick. Spray again and have a second go. That usually exhausts them of soil to the extent they don't wick back.

Use an acid emulsifier every job.

Dry passes I do at 3.8 on the speed controller. It dries as fast as it does if I clean it with my glided AW29 dual jet wand.

Customer feedback is overwhelmingly good.

If the customer mentions the swirls in a way that tells me they don't like them i will take them out. I leave them as is mostly.

Great pair of portable tools. Can do a lot of good for a tired carpet if you have a Rotovac on your porty.

Love to just try the HOSS 700 on it to see what happens. Same with the Zipper.

Imo, don't give them the choice.

Groom RE swirls out.
Besides looking horrible, you'll be suprised at how often you miss spots or areas and not be able to tell until groomed.

Do you have multiple 220 circuits to hook your porty to down there? How many amps are you pulling and do you blow fuses very often?

I require two feeds to the unit each good for 10 amp at 240 volt. So thats two, 20 amp circuits in 120 volt terms.

I have yet to pop a breaker. Most Australian homes have at least two 15 amp circuits. Some have two 10s some a 10 and a 15.
