Angieslist.com

How many of your customers find you there?

If none, you should talk to your customers about giving you a review on Angieslist.com

I get at least a job a week out of it...and they are almost never priceshoppers and tend to spend a good amount of money...it's like a qualified referral.

You can't get on Angies List without a customer puting you on there.

Caution, you really need to do quality work and have great customer service or it can do the opposite and bite you on the ass.

I have two 2 thumbs up ratings there that I have gotten maybe 2 jobs off of.

Our reviews on Yelp are a thousand times more effective

Most of the company reviews I have read on Angie’s list look like they are posted by the owner using an alias.

Yea, I gotta get moving on that. Had a rep call me to do the paid thing.
Do you have a paid listing, Mikey?

They have called me a few times to do the pay to get to the top thing. I like the customers I do get from it but they are like the phone book and want 12 mo. I like to try it before I get into a yearly thing.

I didn't get much off Angies List until I got 5 reviews (this makes you appear in the first grouping of companies automatically). We now have 9 which are all A's. This makes us appear at the top of the page in Angies List for our area and it has made a big difference. Usually about 5 or 6 new customers a month from that.

I like Angies List because they verify the reviews. Subscribers to this service know that.

How do you guys get more clients to get onto Angie's List?

Do you give the survey forms that AL sends out to us?

I've told our clients about it, but they seem to be too busy to post these days, when it comes to do it online.

What works for you guys?

Honestly, it all just steam rolled from doing quality work.
I didn't even know what the hell Angies list was until a customer told me about it.

We get quite a few from Consumers Checkbook. a few from Angies list.

How do you ask people to go on and rate you?

Well, that's a tough one. Sense it's a referral type site, people join in order to get quality referrals from unknown people. I would rather them come to be if they need anything so I can refer them to someone in my network.
If they are already on Angieslist...and that's how they found you...then they know it's pretty common procedure to do a review after they have work done so I always say.
"We would love a great review from you on Angieslist."...Never hurts to ask...and they usually understand.
I've never referred anyone to Angieslist who didn't already know about it.
Like said, I would rather them come to me for referrals...I have plenty of people that I can use for anything.

I will ask them for a review or testimonial for my website via email...I've been slacking on that.
