Any of you who work on your own gear will be thrilled to hear that Sear/Kmart has sold the Craftsman brand to Stanley/Black & Decker for a cool $900M

S/B&D has announced that they will be bringing production BACK to the United States and committing to building a $35M plant to make the Donald happy.

Sears on the other hand looks to be dissolving rapidly.

I'll be sending this low budget Craftsman Apartment owner kit to Marty so he can build a butterbean stalk and pull his rotten teefs.

Trump's done more for manufacturing than bama and he isn't even in office yet

I'll be skeptical of the craftsman brand for a bit but I hope they return it to a quality product again.

Look what Black & Decker did to the quality of Porter Cable tools when it acquired that brand. Porter Cable used to make quality tools. Now they're cheap rebranded Black & Deckers.

I think most of Craftsman's power tools are rebranded now. I doubt the quality of their hand tools will survive this sale.

An old buddy sold a patent to Black & Decker Stanley. It screwed him out of over a million $.

B & D S be de debel.

I believe the value for Black and Decker is in the lawn care tools primarily. But glad Craftsman brand isn't going away...use to be very good tools.

Porter Cable used to have one of the very few left-side blade option sidewinder circular saws on the market. That saw disappeared with their acquisition by B&D. Now used ones are selling for $200.00 on eBay. I got one I wouldn't sell for any $. (Ok, make me an offer.)

B&D hasn't ever been known for quality tools. Cheap, flashy plastic crap. Homeowner quality. Craftsman isn't top of the line either but definitely and upgrade from B&D.
