Richard- read with the theme of
Mission impossible playing in the background:

Good morning agent Taco, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to clean the carpets in a Manhattan apartment with your truckmount.
Should you accept the offer, but fail, the agency shall have no choice but to consider your team a broken arrow; "the agency" will have no choice but to send "the cleaners" after your team.

What’s the ratio for porty to VLM in high rises?

I really don't believe in vlm for residential cleaning. Great for commercial but you want to flush residential over pad in my opinion. You want to have at least 2-3 stage vac motors and 300-500 psi at 1.5 GPM. There are a few machines like that out there.

Technically speaking VLM is not cleaning process. Cleaning removes unwanted stuff from the item being cleaned.
VLM adds unwanted stuff to the item being cleaned. VLM is an appearance improvement system.

I disagree. If it’s done properly, it can clean commercial spaces fine. Sure a guys got to extract anything biological or not stain wise, using a spotting machine or porty. If you vac before, encap, then post vac, you ARE cleaning it....I wouldn’t try to clean a home with it though....

My vacuum canister was pretty much empty on the post vac after encaping. This is how Wikipedia defines cleaning. 87343

The reality is sometimes a guy has no choice. I do a tech company twice a year. They have miles of data cable running under a custom made subfloor. It’s on the seventh floor. There’s no way I’m reaching that with my TM, or dare try a porty to even try to touch it with more water than I have to. The only choice they’ve given me is VLM. It gets really dirty from these millennial idiots... drink, microwaved food, etc.... it looks frickin awesome after we’re done with it.... 3rd year In a row.... they call like clockwork every spring and fall....

You are correct and wise to use encapsulation under those circumstances. Just dont call it cleaning. Its an appearance enhancement service

I got trapped in Harbor Freight tonight talking to some old hippy about the benefits of veganism and using diatomaceous earth when mixing natrual dog food. This dude just started following me around yammering on and on with his hippy crap. The only reason why I didn’t go postal on him is because he gave me a 20% off coupon. Since I was buying alot of stuff for my shop and workbench project, I really wanted that coupon. But in my mind I was imagining myself encapping his face with my 145lb cimex with red pads.

Its is an augmentation type cleaning. It emulsifies the soil and then spreads the soil evenly throughout the carpet and or grinds it deeper into the fibers where it can't be seen. This gives the carpet a more uniform appearance.
You have a mislead belief that you are getting carpets 100% clean with your portable. You can’t get a 100% result with a truckmount. The only 100% thing you can do is convince your customer they chose the right stranger to come into their home and provide a service.

I never said HWE cleans to a level of 100%. I think the Scientific research says about 89%.

Stanley Steemer say "Our carpet cleaning equipment removes on average 82.6% of the moisture from your carpet fibers, leaving you with fresh, clean carpet that dries quickly. "
Q - So how come the remaining 17.4% doesn't contain any dirt????:headscratch::headscratch:
