It just needs a little dent to trigger a collapse under load. In operation needs only up to 20 Hg, but dummies will push it.

Looks like he about wet his pants in terror when that thing imploded. That must of been crazy to be inches away from when it happened.

When I thought my blower was bad on my Everest with the bad vac gauge, it must’ve been pulling 20hg to slow my engine down to stall it out. I’m so glad it didn’t make my tank implode

Now on my Hydramaster….I noticed my tank flexing at just 14hg. I wouldn’t be surprised if it imploded at 20on that model

There is a shop down the road from me that repairs stainless steel milk tankers.
You would not believe the business they do from collapsed tanks due to the drivers not venting the tanks when they drop a load of milk.
