Thanks for the insight Mike and Scott, we've actually been cold-calling all week (if the phone aint ringing in, better be ringing out, right Scott?) and have 2 very nice quotes coming up next week. I actually think this scare is good for us (my wife and I) because its getting us off our asses and out selling, which we should have started doing long ago.

Each morning I would put 20 business cards in my wallet.

This is a great idea. I pass out BC like they are water but also 3 mornings a week (any 3) I pick 20 - 25 names from a phone book (commercial) and send them post cards. That way places that might not show on our mailing list are still getting stuff from us.
