We currently have a Butler, 2 hydramaster 4.8 CDS units and a Namco. The Namco has been our back up unit but it is not sufficiant any more and we need to up grade. Jon Don has a god deal on a Blue Line Champ but I don't know anybody that owns one. Any feedback or suggestions for a backup unit would be appreciated. Thanks

The Champ is a great machine! I is a little on the loud side. In fact Serv-Pro names their champ specked machine the Chopper.

Our customers that have a Champ have found them to be worry free.

Would be a great backup machine.

If you would like to talk to the local Serv-Pro about the Champ call me and I will be happy to see if Scott is ok with me giving you his cell.

Yes Jeff the champ is now the cobalt. They kept it the same size but changed quite a few other things.

Yup that Cobalt is a sweet machine!

It's heating system is based on its big brothers.

Great midpriced machine.

My friend Has 2 and says his techs like it better than the thermal wave he has. So now he is kicking himself for dropping the extra $$$ for the bigger one. I think anything you get from blueline is going to be solid.

Champ

Blue Line Champ is a great machine!

We have one in our fleet and it runs consistently without down time. We have been ruining it for 13 months now.

It gets really hot and has plenty of vacuum. If you are looking for a machine for residential and some commercial you can't go wrong. I think it is a well built machine and think that you will truly enjoy your purchase. If I was in your shoes and there was a great deal on a Champ

I would jump on it because I used to work a DIST. and they didn't sit around for full price. I can only think of one time when we had one on sale(customer stiffed us) I sold it in less than a week.

As far as support goes, Scott Harlib is great and they stand behind there product...

Ok can't help it. If your looking at the Cobalt/champ at least look at the Prochem Peak or Powerclean Freedom 47. Both have bigger engines produce better heat and have been on the market long enough to know they are solid machines. I never liked the Champ. Loved the Thermal wave. Looking at the Cobalt they put the same size blower as the Peak but a Smaller engine. Why?

It's a good thing Mikeyfest is right around the corner. I know Prochem will have their truck there so you can play with a Peak and if Blueline has a Cobalt there you can compare them and ask the differences. I am sure you will be surprised when you ask how about the Heat Exchangers. Still scratching my head when I was told what BlueLine is doing with the Cobalt. I want to see it first hand to make sure it's true and if it is I don't get it.

Back in the J.W.C. days....we sold a champ to one of our customers.... after that WE ALL called it "the Chump" IM sure john olson, greg carter and of course jeff, can all verifiy this to be true. We never sold another one. Unless there have been major improvements from that time untill now...you get the picture

I would never entertain the thought of a prochem. I would be surprised if there even in business of making machines in a few more years. Stick to kartcher pressure washers, thats what they do best. The Prochem organization turned into a bunch of sellouts that are always a step behind these days.

Thank you for all the replies. It's always good to hear more positive comments then negative ones. I fell better about my possible purchase. This machine is only going to get used for 4 months in the summer and then rest of the year it will be the backup unit to my 3 other vans.
I did talk to Jon Don today and they said that a few years back the Champ did have alot of issues but they have since worked out all the bugs.
