wondering if anyone has experience with the 2 piece glides you install over both lips of the wand

Like that there are no supports and for $40 they are a bit more economical

Only getting about 9 months from a slotted greenglide before it wears down to the supports

9 months?

Are you a "Overwander" who uses their wand for agitation?
Do you clean lots of thin apartment grade Berber?
Using the wand on tile?

No

For $200 can't they have a thicker layer of Teflon where the glide hits the carpet before it is flush with the support?

I have a pair, I don't know if they are magic glides. I got them over 10 years ago. The problem with these ones is that if you just snap them over your existing stainless glides, they don't leave enough room for air to pass through. You have to remove the existing glides to fit the new ones on. Pain in the ass on most wands. The Green Glides and others just snap on and are ready to go

Doesn't sound like its a worn out glide sounds like it's just worn down past the initial groove. I run them until one end is gone to the wand catching Berber.
