I tried to re-glue 1 of my pad drivers for my Cimex... I used the 3m contact adhesive but it fell off again...

Is there a certain type of glue to use? The pad drivers look to be on the newer side.. The other set of pad drivers I have look/are very old but I've hadn't had a problem with them...

Many times with the 3M. Put weight on it and let it dry completely. Need had it not work. Did you use it too soon?

I didn't put weight on it and may have tried using it too soon...

It failed where the Grey part that pops into the Cimex and the foam/with the velcro/ish stuff on it.. I don't see how I could sand that side of it, but I'll give it a whirl...

As Mikey said.

I have used Contact Adhesive with no problems for several years.

I also use 3 x G clamps to hold the pieces together & STOP SIDEWAYS MOVEMENT.

Do not over-tighten as this can force the glue out & make it less secure.

I also carry 3 x spare boards in my van just in case.

Clean up the surfaces real well. Lightly sand the surfaces to remove old adhesive. You could also use a little acetone to remove adhesive.

After you have CLEAN surfaces.... Use 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive. Problem solved! That's all there is to it... https://www.amazon.com/3M-08008-Black-Weatherstrip-Adhesive/dp/B00063X38M

We've been recommending 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive for Cimex drivers for many years. It works. We have many Cimex customers who this has helped.

Thanks Rick, just found out that I can POSSIBLY source this product in Australia as 3M have it on their Oz website.

Have sent off an email requesting information on who stocks it here.

They'll let me know in a couple of days.

I have two drive boards that I can use it on at the moment.

JB WELD makes an excellent epoxy two part. Go on their web site and see which one to use. Never had much luck with the 3M products.
