I have a 200 gal tank that came with metal straps to hold it down. It has never moved off the original marks.

Both straps are rated for 1500 pounds and a 500 pound working load... My buddy is a landscaper and has a sprayer in the back of his truck with a 200 gal tank and bout the same set up and pro. installed it.

Why do you think the mounting isn't safe??

The Nylon will lose it's strength with any chemical spillage.
All flexible strapping will lose strength.

The straps need to be stainless metal over the tank.

Galvanized is OK, but will need to be replaced if showing rust

I am just concerned, over safety in the van.

I've had customers hit bridge supports in their vans (fortunately, the 1/4" thick tank mounts held).

P.S. Able;
Our TM's have a larger SS recovery tank, and we have not installed any 55 gal. tanks.
Nick told me he does have a mount, but I have not seen it.

Mikey;

This is a photo of the interior of the SS recovery tank:
Tank-204.jpg

It shows the top support, some of the side supports and the 3" SS Filter Inlet.

Our recovery tanks are 10ga. stainless.

Can't see any chemicals getting on Keith's tank straps nor do I think the tank can go anywhere even in accident. Even if it could move it not going to get past the truck mount. Safety is important, so is a little common sense.

Still damn thick.

What size tank and how many and what types of supports to keep it from caving in?

That's a hell of a lot of very expensive SS in that Mount.

By the time you spread the small profit between Coop, Ellis and Eric/red must be 46 bucks and a #3 Nerf left over for poor Nick.

As long as I get enough for lunch or a weekend of beer, I'm happy ;)
