If this is a discussion board, all threads in my way of thinking should be open to new posts. I come here primarily for one venue, marketing. Not to just read but to post. Not to search a major catch all of new threads for something I find relevant, but to jump right into the heart of the matter.
That being said, it's your board Mikey, do with it as you will. I will search for a board where marketing discussions are given the respect that in my mind they deserve. You knew you would lose a few over the change, that's the harsh reality of life.
