This week I was referred to a new customer from a current customer. The new customer was moving into a nice 3-4 year old home and just had their carpets cleaned by Steamatic. (Usually a reputable firm- I agree). HOWEVER, when the lady booked (Worn out, greasy, etc. ?)
Got to the house and sae the "dark patches". She explained that the previous cleaning tech brought in his hose, and in his words, "cleaned with an emulsifier and 160 degree steam." OOOOOKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. No prespray, no spotting, no scrubbing! The customer went on to tell me that the Steamatic tech explained to her that the dark patches in her carpeting were the result of "electrical static burns and would not come out." WTF!!!!!!?????
I'm not the most experienced cleaner by any means but gimme a break!
I did my normal cleaning by using my Grease Eraser, misted a light layer of citrus over the area and scrubbed it in. Rinse with an all fiber rinse and viola!!! Just as easy as removing filtration lines! (Which in essence is exactly what the problem was, just happened to be in the middle of the flooring for some reason.)
Just to make sure I wasn't a TOTAL idiot, I called my rep at JonDon and got on the line with their tech specialist also and gave them the story. They were just as surprised as I was to find out that such a thing as "electrical static burns" existed.
A word to the wise; DON'T B. S. THE CUSTOMER! It comes back to bite you in the butt!
