Today I cleaned a carpet that should have gone to the curb. But no we want it cleaned it was new in 1989 and has never been cleaned yea. I would normally use my 175 prior to cleaning but it's getting to heavy. A lady gave me a old 80's host unit that I never used. I tried the host method in the 80's and it didn't clean . But today I used the host unit to scrub in the pre spray the unit worked well to pre clean the carpet. Yes I know the unit wasn't made for this type of cleaning but worked today and it's much lighter than the175. So I'm still learning and still willing to learn. The carpet cleaned good for the age and wear, thanks to the host unit. jz.

Jack;

Host uses that cylindrical brush machine for scrubbing after their "liquid prespray".

I would keep on using it.
