Beware of "Satisfaction Guaranteed"

True Story: Currently, there is a lawsuit going through the Washington, DC courts, in which a customer is suing a Korean DC Dry Cleaner for $65-million for losing a pair of suit pants he brought in for alteration. The cleaner claims the party gave them a gray pair of slacks rather than suit pants which they altered. The cleaner posted a "Satisfaction Guaranteed" sign. The customer wasn't satisfied.

According to the reports, in DC, there is a daily punitive penalty for failing to honor your "Satisfaction Guaranteed" claim. The cleaner made an offer of settlement of $12,000 which has been turned down by the Plaintiff. So it continues through the Court. The actual lawsuit is for $65,000,000.

Perhaps all of our DC friends could use this approach on Chem Who?

Who cares, satisfaction guaranteed is such a joke guarantee anyway. They won't get 65mill....they should have taken 12k.

Thank God I don't live in D C. Any judge that would allow that to be heard in court should loose his/her posting. They lost his pants. I seriously doubt they cost $65,000,000.

Rex--

The funny thing the guy suing IS A JUDGE!

Mental anguish not having his favorite suit for first day on the bench at new post. As well as 10 years weekend car rental to take his suit to another dry cleaner!

Rex you would be surprised at what judges do. Both liberal and conservative judges. It surprises me every day. Like last year when the US supreme court ruled that if someone wanted to build a mall where your house is or put up condos, they can take it thru eminent domain.

not always nick...

they have had back and forth cases on the domain thing....and this is a old and run down part of town...

now it has become illegal to try it through those means..unless they can prove the blight vs improvement...and also some what of a replacement value

eminent domain is still a crap law.once they move you now you have to pay a higher tax rate but thats not a considration in theyre offer to you.they only want to pay fair market value.screwing the poor again!

Mike it happens. last sep in Illinois there was a town that a few big box stores moved in. Managed to get the neighborhood thru eminent domain and the ones who held out? A few months later the reamaining houses were devalued by 50 percent. OK here is another one.

PURCHASE ORDER AND INVOICE are the same.

REX in one state a judge ruled that a purchase order and invoice are the same. Meaning if you never signed a invoice but made out a PO and signed it can be construed as a invoice for the company you want to buy from.

Can you picture this judge though, sitting up behind his bench, black robe, white shirt, and NO pants! NO wonder he's upset!!

You know there is something wrong when someone can just come in and take your home!

If there were a working girl on her knees under the bench, then he wouldn't be mad, unless he was caught with said girl under the bench.

D.c. IS JUST ONE BIG S_ _ t HOLE. THE WORST PLACE TO DO BUSINESS, controlled by socialist A holes that are just looking to redistribute wealth to people that refuse to work ( mainly because they have been so oppressed by the "white power structure". DC is a haven for welfare addicted losers and criminals. Believe it or not it is a crime for a woman to carry mace or pepper spray, they will actually arrest you if they find it on your key chain or in your car. Guns, forget it. A guy from my shooting club was arrested down there during a traffic stop for "Handgun paraphernalia" . The cop spotted a spent shell case in the cup holder. Apparently it fell out of his range bag a few days earlier. He spent two days in jail and paid a $250 fine.
