My daughter and son in law started their carpet cleaning business over a decade ago. When they were just staring out they would advertise in a couple local publications that Carters also advertised in. The competition didn't seem to hurt them, likely because their unique selling position was different and unattainable by other cleaners. www.foothillssteamway.com is their website based in Placerville. They have a very nice business now and do better than I do.
