Black water came out of jets??????

Hi there,

My tech called and said all of a sudden the hydro force had black water coming out of it. This is on a older CDS unit. The only thing I can think of is the pump went out or something but I am not sure how black water or something black came out of the tip. He went and got my other van and fixed the lady's carpet. This sounds expensive. Any thoughts out there?

How old are your solution hoses?

Black death, maybe. Your pressure hose may be deteriorating and depositing dissolved rubber through the hose. Happened to me several times on my Butlers with Goodyear Neptune hose. The hose is wrapped pretty tightly around the hose reel and the flexing of the hose hastens the process.

They are pretty old. I bought the machine a few months ago and have not used it a lot. I will try hoses from another van and see what happens. Thanks!!!!

you could have and most likely had a descaling agent in your prespray or cleaning solution. Bane Clean has some in it. Could be descaling lines.

Steve hit it on the head....same problem here, new hoses, problem solved.

And it does freak the hell out of you while spraying and the pre-spray starts coming out black..... :shock:

I just had a bad hose on my chemical injection system. My chemical meter kept filling up with black water. After replacement,all is fine. So, it might be a bad hose on the machine also.

I replace my lead line every 6 months regardless any body want a old pile of usless hose??? :shock:

just happend to me last month, it was the line on my wand it was rotted inside and shooting black on the carpet

I used to see black come out the hoses when we had a prochem legend with a clogged orfice and sticking temp control, it would heat spike and cause black to come out of the goodyear neptune hoses. solution make sure the machine is not heat spiking and get some parker paraflex hoses.

It happened to me because of heat spiking also. I replaced my hoses to be safe.
