I hate to ask because I'm sure it's been discussed many times, but, I can't find anything in the "search" results.
We have the opportunity to join a group, but is it worth the time and money?

Hey Steve did you go with BizIQ?

I saw the old message and was wondering about that. If so I'm asking for my free month!

I was wondering about your opinion of them also.

It's worth it if you have the time and really work the program. There's a lot of part time "business owners" in most groups that sell various mlm stuff. You'll get a lot of bullshit small jobs but we did hook up with our 3 biggest commercial customers through bni

BNI - "Brings No Income" Bring the donuts in and see what happens...Great for barter...You scratch my balls I'll scratch yours...Good Luck with that...OK, it may work for some...At 53, I ain't doing nothing for free...Ask me what happened today when this guy questioned me "can you do for cheaper"...LOL

what's the make up of the typical groups?

new and/or small time butchers, bakers and candlestick makers that come and go?
or more established long term professional service providers and widget salesmen ?

I'd like to schmooze more architects to get on their "preferred contractor recommend" lists many of them have

Be equivalent to having a busy carpet store recommend you

ive got one of my best referral sources from bni and its been a solid 4yrs from this source that's outside of bni

also depends on the group some are lame and fold after a while. the chapter im in produces the most out of 3 chapters in our city. there used too be 4 other one folded

I just googled
there's a half dozen or more chapters near me

if I pay the $500 dues, can I frequent other local chapters?
Or five bill$ for each?

you can visit but it depends on if there's already someone in your category thats a member. in that case it would depend on that groups member if they were ok with you visiting but you couldnt mention your business or what you do. you just let people know your just there to observe another group.

i have gotten work from other groups also.

We have been talking about putting together our own knock-off BNI group. There’s a company we work with that does janitorial so we refer them for that and they refer us for carpet. We get tons of referrals for duct cleaning from one certain HVAC place. We got a job from a local plumber recently and it seems that we will have the same kind of relationship with them. Makes sense to get everyone together sometime to network. I will set it up if I ever get out of the laundry room
