That's a real blow to the stores that repair hydramaster machines who rely on product sales help pay for the overhead. We might save on product but lose when you have to travel to get repairs done.

A few years ago I brought this up when I noticed the Sapphire chems being offered by Sears online....they promptly assured us all that it was a mistake and the products shouldn't be there...

I'm all for the most cost effective ways to get stuff..but can we please then stop allowing the local supply shops to cry about everyone buying online and that's why they have to charge a thousand dollars for a freaking cat pump rebuild? Yes interlink it's you! I wish you guys never bought out the local shops around here...

Unfortunately, even if you were to order Chems from Amazon Prime....and pay for the faster shipping....

You can still wait 2-3 WEEKS for delivery....

Have had a few items that has happened to (not chem related)

:confusedd: I've never had anything that didn't come from overseas take 2-3 week and I order quite a bit from amazon. This is "sold by" and shipped from Amazon

but...........it isn't going to be two-day shipping on chems either (still free...just not 2day)

ama.jpg

so I wouldn't suggest amazon to those ""Hey I just won the ***** auction. When will it be here cause I bought it for a job two days from now" people............

Wow that will test your moral fiber.

Save a few bucks a gallon and nuke your local supplier. Or pay more than you need to just to keep your supplier around.

You're a schmuck either way. I'd just buy a different brand to avoid the situation. :winky:

Lockhart I know what you did. The carpet cleaning Police told on you! ;)

I won't tell you what I paid for the new spinner today. I support my local guy no questions asked. In the long run it has paid out in ways that small savings just can't compete with. I need him around. When my radiator started leaking he let me get one from another machine and use it will they recored my old one. I can go through his bone yard anytime I want. I don't believe I've ever paid for any thing. it would be different if I dealt with a Jon-Don style place. He's an owner operator just like me and loyalty counts.

The problem that I see is that consumers will not use the product correctly nor does their equipment possess the ability to rinse thoroughly enough. This happened to Magic Wand on Amazon here, though there are enough positive reviews to obscure the negative one somewhat.

I was rather surprised to see Magic Wand offering their products on Amazon when the labeling clearly contains warning about professionals only using the products. Whatever!

I think some of these manufacturers want it both ways. The hair styling business experiences this constantly. They use exclusive products until the manufacturer gains some public exposure and then offers the products to the consumer, leaving the salon industry to find a new exclusive products to offer so to justify their business. It appears that this is beginning to happen in our industry.

Loyalty needs to flow both ways.

The advantage to going to the consumer is thinning out the product while maintaining margins. It's a tough call, I suppose, because the competition in the consumer arena is so much more fierce and manufacturers risk alienating their professional clientele.

CleanMaster is the chemical brand for HydraMaster. Our customers who use CleanMaster chemicals at many times are unable to find the product at their local dealer. As many of you know, many distributors do not carry a full line of a branded product, only the products that are more popular in their service area. When interest is created in a product through advertising, or more likely in social media discussions like Mikeysboard and Facebook Forums, it is very frustrating for the potential customer to be told he either has to order it from a website, be switched to a competitive like product they do stock, or it is not available at all. We are hearing from those frustrated potential customers quite often. Amazon simply provides another convenient place for them to purchase virtually all CleanMaster products in a convenient manner. From a delivery and timing standpoint, if their local distributor stocks a specific product, that is still the best place for them to buy it.

Amazon is setup as another distributor in the same way as our existing distributors. End users will order directly from Amazon and receive the product from Amazon. They stock the inventory and fulfill the order. At the present time, we have no intention of selling any HydraMaster branded equipment, tools, or accessories or any other products through Amazon.

Our desire is to grow the popularity and desire for our line of chemicals on a national basis to increase demand at all of our distribution outlets, including distributor brick and mortar locations and their supporting websites. Our primary means of selling the CleanMaster chemical line remains the supporting distribution outlets who stock and sell our products both through brick and mortar locations and updated online product offerings. The traditional stocking distributor has several advantages they receive from CleanMaster as compared to Amazon when they are a stocking and supporting distributor

Finally, many of other leading branded chemicals are already listed on Amazon by one or more of their dealers, including distributors which have catalogs, email blasts, and national promotions sent out to virtually the entire country. Having the products available on Amazon is not something new. We just chose to go with a format to sell them through Amazon that is more traditional for Amazon users, which is fulfillment by Amazon.

I guess we could all band together and sign a petition requesting Hydramaster to remove this from Amazon otherwise we will steer clear of ALL of their products !! May or may not work !!

Also, keep in mind our products are sold in the industrial section of Amazon, where our sister company has been selling products for years. They are not intended for consumer sales.

Doyle how many chemical manufacturers are competing for shelf space in this day and age?

and how many lines does the typical supply shop carry?

or WANT to carry..

Look at all the choices

Chemspec
Prochem
Potential House Brands, private label or not (Maxim and Bridgepoint)
CTI
MasterBlend
Esteam
Releasit
Harvard
Procyon
Fabpro
Betco
Chemister

and you got all the small new comers who are now fighting for shelf space promising higher margins to hungry retailers, must be 20 of them.. nuline, cough!

How do you compete when you are all selling essentially the same stuff? The HydraMaster line up is relatively new and or repackaged. Your product names have not yet become house hold words like Ultrpack or Formula 90. I called a retailer today and asked if they sold your line, he said just a few products. I asked how he felt about teh Amazon move and he didn't seam to care and understood why you (had to) do it

Do you hope to find new customers on Amazon or just those who want it cheaper or easier than through the shop they learned about it from? Will the average cleaner buy a new product based on on price? Lets leave the 10%'rs of the internet forum FB cleaners out of this, lets talk the average owner op who never gets on his PC to talk and read about his industry, yet who you hopes uses the same device to buy his suds..
Will that happen? Has it happened? Can you track sales through Amazon?

Ultimately, who should we Internet cleaners choice to support?

The company that gives the most back to us in the form of free education...

Classes at retailers and events, free webinars, online support on forums, free samples (MB Raffles), phone support, apps etc

Can a company supply that if they are the low cost leader?

heck no.

Doyle, please don't go so cheap on us that Nilfisk can't afford YOU.

I have never thought that what we offer is mostly just better chemicals. We offer service, skilled use and some times innovation. Nor am I concerned by DYI types, who perhaps buy SuperSudzyMagic off Amazon. There are so many who come when they can't make it work, and they become loyal (if rueful) customers.

Perhaps it is naivete but I don't much care what others do, preferring to focus on improving the lives of my customers, my elves and my family. It is a big world and life is too short.

I'll chime in here. My now famous quote "not all money is good money" applies. I told Amazon to pound sand. Jeff Bezo's is Evil. He business model and philosophy is to destroy all small business so you are only left with Amazon. I am extremely disappointed to see yet another line help with the destruction of the small business man. Doyle I suggest you go read his book and think about who you are doing business with and who you have aligned with. Do you really think this will help or hurt Cleanmaster Products? The rest I will speak to you in private..
