Hey Marty, I guess I'm pseudo-quasi cool. I asked for anodizing a month ago when I ordered my Zip. I was told they were not producing special colors anymore. Can you get to the bottom of this for me? Oh, and no trigger-lock as shown on the how to video on the Zipper website. Is there a difference between U.S. and Canadian versions?

Rob, I apologize if we were unable to get you a specific color when you ordered your Zipper. We are now using a different anodizing company and process. All of the aluminum components, including the lid, are now hard anodized. The only reason I'm able to offer colors is because my machine shops are behind production and they are shipping me very small quantities which is causing it to be a logistic nightmare. When the quantities start coming in larger, I like to have all of the heads done at one time, so I'm not commuting back and forth to the anodizer which is an hour and a half away. All of the components have multiple processes to complete the final product. As far as the trigger lock, we stopped making that well over a year ago. The main reason was you could not switch your trigger from left to right. Also, if you waste tank filled and it was in the lock position and you laid the Zipper down, you would come in to a spraying waterfall.

Colors will not be available all the time. It will be a hit and miss or a longer lead time for your order, depending on what stage of production we are in. It already puts a level of difficulty customizing as we do.

Btw..I would like everyone to know on October 1st each Zipper model will have a $200.00 increase. So, if you are looking to purchase a Zipper, I would suggest placing your order beforehand.

Thanks Eric, I could have waited. Maybe you should update your website. The video describing the technical features is misleading with the trigger lock explanation. I also asked for the contoured handle and was told it was to hard to get every one manufactured right, and was no longer available. This was a $3,300.00 purchase for me, I would have liked to 'get it right the first time'.
