Nope..i simply plumbed a 90 degree pipe hooked to my garden hose and blasted it out the rear after removing the dump valve.
Easy peesy....I think online filters get progressively worse the minute you start using it....

I might have posted this in ICS,years ago.Bought my first butler from Addams and Swett. It was bought at Butler. From the only guy thankfully long gone from there.A conniving shyster name Scott..He swore up and down about how great they took care of there trucks.Well being new (used ) but to me new...I cleaned all the areas from top to bottom. To get ready for the signs.I looked in waste tank with flashlight expecting a modest amount of junk....Oh no...At least 10 to 12 broken bottles of shard glass, about 300-400 pennies and assorted change .Plus misc shit you vacuum up with out a waste filter present.A good bucket full of sand -dirt -crap...Also.This is why I was ocd about changing the knee-hi at the tank elbow hourly. It promoted better vacuum. But also due to the fact a knee hi can easily tear with excess weight an or drop to the bottom of the tank...I was so naive and just happy after 10 yrs saving...The 305 was also dog tired till I installed a 350 new engine...But was age 26 with a second child on the way...So....lessons learned from exp...lol .Have a great night all...Bear in mind in that time period there were no inline filters, nor Butler filter boxes...Mine was 82 so barely a 3 yr old company at time built by Butler...My old Boss-Jack's brother used knee -hi's so therefore I did.Did I also mention previous post .The jon-don matrix defender was a lousy filter as well.A untested rushed into production very expensive item that warped. There is a reason this board exists and that is to prevent garbage being bought by new cleaners. You guys not only test it all but you give the true answers people look for .Thank You Mike and all who assist noobs from buying BS...

Agreed Bob, be actually nice to have a quick connect attached to inside tank, then add a rotating swirl sprayer like a garden sprinkler in side..Hook it up after you dump re rinse inside...But even a access panel with gaskets you could pop off to get inside better for problems in tank maybe...But as Lee said quite a garden hose ...Attaboy !!!

Dumb Larry......my filter was IN the tank and you jus reached in and pullt it out OR...
Jus hose it off inside the tank
The blowers filter is in the tank, I think these guys are referring to an in line filter to catch debris instead of bunging up the tank drains. The Genie tank that is in Unca Ernie has the ss filter inside and is susceptible to ingesting water into the blower. A better design is employed on other tanks where the ss filter is above the waterline and is almost impossible to sucked dirty water into the blower.

Prior to helping Dad here.I worked for moron.Due to the fact he prefered playing handball versus running his shop.He let his people clean with out filters in there Butlers.I hear one of the guys telling him ,I cant dump truck...I get asked to clear out the problem.I open lid an 208 gallons of silt-muck gooey muddy s--t. 2-3 inches of water on top.6 hours later and 5 trash cans of dug out junk. The moron returns and his crew is all happy there truck is cleaned and can dump again. He looks at me yelling it took 6 hours to clean that .I could have done it in 15 minutes...His crews and I are all WTF? According to him a portable could have cleaned it out in record time.I asked so a 10 gallon tank in a portable plus dump and re sucking 15 minutes ?
An when done you have to clean portable out ? So ya use filters lol... But if it does get jammed again.I know a so called carpet cleaner who can do it in 15 minutes lol...
Horror Stories from carpet cleaners are simply the best...We need a reality show lol ...
sounds like my boss.... back in my day....id clean the whole house and both sofas in 30 min... lol

How much coin did you get annually? I know, wasn't worth it.
Well.....after I blew out all the dirt and lint....
I Usually would havta reach down and pull out all the coins that were fused together....all in one piece....real nasty.....
But still worth NOT cleaning it every day!
