I've done it countless times.. to wash pads and rags. They won't come out stiff.

You are going to need more than your regular detergent amount.

(I only wash at laundromat places, never at home)

YES, there won't be a problem, and your clothes will not come out stiff. Emulsifiers contain "wetting agents" which promotes fast penetration of fibers for soil release.

(Of course, use the proper amount)

Before Justin posts, I have almost 50 cases of Metalist floor cleaner left, I got a great deal on it..... may never use it all in my career.

I may be telling secrets out of school, but I think Tom F uses carpet cleaning powder for his laundry. I have used some carpet products for cleaning cloths and bonnets when the regular detergent ran low. You should be fine.

I've used carpet prespray when out of laundry detergent a few times. No problem.

How does Tide work as a carpet prespray?

So why are we using expensive products to prespray with when we can just go down to the grocery story and buy some Tide. Oxy Tide even. Sneaky way, Mikey, to get people to admit what they really use.

Might I mention never on carpet only on concrete.

Now in my janitor only days I used an insane amount of simple green on carpets.

I actually find the emulsifiers to be much better in removing dirt from dirty carpet cleaning towels and bonnets, than any laundry detergent.
Those samples are great.

I remember Doyle Bloss mentioning he saw a cleaner at a store buying a LOT of laundry detergent and said to Doyle " my wife does a lot of laundry".
