Would these be a good vacuum motor on a portable? I mean if there was someway to configure it with a electric motor?

I'm just trying to advance the rather primitive state of portables now.

The key is efficiency of converting electric power into vac power.

Ametek has made some gains with the 8.4" & 6.6" Hi-Airwatt series.

I think you mean the turbo chargers. I think the super chargers are similar to TM blowers already. In fact roots makes superchargers. I don't think you will get any more power than what is already available with the new vac motors for the same amperage draw but it's worth a try if you have the time and money.

So no performance gain from using a car turbo?

And how much for that portable with the general pump, 2-3 stage vacs?

Jimmy. ...hate to burst yor blower bubble but it takes 900 to a 1000 HP jus to turn a blower on the top fuel cars in NHRA.....HOWEVER they produce over 10000 HP
....So get busy...I want to see you get sucked though a porty

Superchargers are belt-driven like TM blowers.

Porty vacs are ran off integrated 10-12 amp electric motors.

2 different animals.

I think you could find a turbo that doesn't need 1000 hp to turn. The issue would be on how to get an electric motor to turn it. And if it could suck enough to be better than a little vac motor.

Not 1000 hp, but not more than 12-13 amps per vac either.

That's the biggest factor limiting electric vac motors for portable units.

Only so much you can do with that many amps, and the latest high performance vacs are as good as it is going to get until improvements in electric vac technology can deliver improved designs and efficiency.

Porty vacs also have sealed bearings for use in wet applications.

I can only imagine what a little foam or moisture would do to an expensive supercharger.
