Carpet outside of men's restroom

One of my church maintenance accounts is the church I attend. Upstairs, on the second floor, is a particular area where they have clustered the 60 and up men's classes. I'm not quite in that age group yet, so I never frequent the men's room in that area. I did today.

It's not uncommon to see a urine puddle beneath the urinal, but in this restroom it was a river! It ran from the irons almost to the door. I noticed wet footprints all the way to the door, so you know it's all over the carpet in the hall outside. This particular area is located in a quarterly cleaning section. I'm going to suggest we do it monthly.

I went to a Christmas Choir program tonight. I sat in the second floor seats. I noticed the wise men and shepherds came in on the second floor before making their way down to the stage. They were all barefooted and had to have come past that bathroom.

Kitty litter. Or a sign urging them to shoot straight. Even a differently shaped urinal. I'm 59 and have yet to piss on my own feet.

What I like about you, though, is you actually care. Sorry, but it shows.

Do the right thing and HWE it. If someone Pee'd on you would you spray yourself with hair spray, then wait for the crust to fall off?-- or would you take a shower as in HWE?

Scott has the best idea. You can change the mats out monthly or more often if needed. As we get old we gradually lose our sense of smell. I'm sure a few people notice the odor and just shoot a bunch of air freshener to cover it up.
YOU go to church?

Love Scotts suggestion.

Ya catch the problem before it's a problem. Tell whoever is inviting uncle Fred to church to stop already. He's not getting saved and he pisses everywhere.

Marty, I agree you've got to HWE....I just can't believe no one smelled it and thought maybe something should be done about it! They must have a crappy janitor.

the mats last about a month if they aren't saturated, they have a odor counteractant, and the back side has a rubbery layer, and each comes with a pc of velcro that you can stick on the floor and it holds the front edge of the mat to help keep it in place.

Lol! Bawb.......thankfully I will never have to experience that problem! Although.......now that I think about it, there have been times when I should've been there to hold it for my husband!

The new movie theater has the pads in all the urinals. It's the cleanest floor I've ever seen. I wouldn't want to have to be the person to change it.

Maybe suggest a men's "Depends" dispenser in the restroom.

If it is in fact urine, then I agree it needs to be hot water extracted. Regularly. However, are you sure it is urine? Is there a leak in the water line? Or, if is urine, is there a leak in the drain line? Perhaps you checked, but thought I would ask.

Sutley just prespray with 1-9 ratio of Acid Rinse. Then steam rinse it. If its dirty then run alki rinse.
One of my nicer Restaurants has the drip, drop, leak, shake catch pads under there hanging toy lays. They have some kind of absorbent border around them too.
I will holler at the GM tomorrow and see what/where they get them.
But yeah its got to be rinsed out not scrubbed in.
