I,m considering this in an attempt to cool the blower drive belts. Anybody have any experience with this. Where can I get it done? What should I look for in a company to do this? Would it need to be inside and out?

Talk to these guys. They know their stuff. Spend the money and get the best job possible. Coating the exhaust inside and out gives you the best results.

Talk to John H. at hotheatexchangers.com I think he coats his exhaust manifolds also. Of course they are SS, not the OEM that a lot of TM makers use.

We use a high temp woven cover over our TM stainless exhaust system.

It is a tubular product that expands similar to a chinese finger puzzle.

It also delivers more heat to the HX.

I think Larry's wrap/cover gives the best return on investment. But as is mentioned, you really have to go with stainless steel, as the heat is retained inside the manifold so well, that the intense internal heat & corrosive gases will decimate mild steel in short order. But that is the whole point, contain the heat and deliver it to the HX, not the belts.

I already have a wrapped SS header. Belt temperature is still around 200. They only last about 300 hrs. Alignment and tension are proper.
Do you think ceramic coating will reduce the radiant heat more than the wrap?

Wrapped is quite different from the tubing shown.

The tubing has air space that provides more insulation to the exhaust pipe.

The hi-temp tubing stretches to fit over the flanges.

I talked to a ceramic coater at a trade show and he said that our tubing was better than the ceramic.

It looks like a good investment. I will be using the coating and tubing on my machine since the cost is so reasonable.
