What are your thoughts of the Challenger OP machine?

Has anyone, or does anyone here currently used their chemicals?

Interested to hear what you know.

Absolutely fantastic machine. I use two CCS Conqueorors which are discontinued clones of the Challenger. My first one ive used continually for the past 23 years. Not one problem or repair needed (just replace velcro on pad driver and replace cable on the handle every couple of years). I actually prefer these wheel up style OP machines because you can move them side to side rather than straight back and forth like the newer wheels down OP machines

Challenger was a good machine back in the 1990's but it's now 2023

You want the Best Wheels Up OP in 2023 buy a TOPS Odyssey

I haven’t personally used one, but it looks like it would wear your arms and hands out like a 175 rotary will. Especially on those big jobs.

I use a Phoenix and Cimex, both are wheels down machines. I will never go back to a wheels up machine, except in those certain situations- super tight areas, needing to “heel” the pad’s edge into the floor or grout line, etc.- where it just makes sense.

Challenger is slow, ugly, needs a glider on most carpet, hard to maneuver on some carpet even with a glider, has a velcro driver, has small wheels so it must be carried up and down stairs

Odyssey is fast, looks professional, doesn't need a glider, easy to maneuver, has big wheels, and a Malish Driver that is more aggressive and digs deeper on residential carpet

Odyssey is the 2023 Lexus of OP Machines

Challenger is the 1990 VW Beetle of OP Machines

I've used both
Buy the Odyssey
The new owners at TOPS are good people making good machines

I have nothing against anybody at Challenger but Odyssey is a much better OP Machine

Odyssey and Challenger are Wheels Up OP and best suited for small Residential

If your doing Commercial or big Residential you might want to consider a Wheels Down OP

I have a Challenger OP. I dont use it anymore. No market for it in my area.
Fantastic machine. Despite what other say, easy to maneuver, carry and load back into your van.
I have one for sale if anyone is interested for a fraction of the cost of topps or any other machine.
As far as the chemistry juice goes, use what works for you. My experience has been a good encap will do the job either residential or commercial. Add a little booster, kaboom!

For the majority of carpets Challenger does maneuver easily with a glider

Dense thick carpet is where Challenger gets hard to maneuver

Never used any Challenger chemicals

I like the the Challenger bonnets. They're thin, aggressive, and absorb

17'' Challenger bonnets work good with Odyssey

Lifting Challenger into the van is easy

Carrying Challenger (65 pounds) up and down stairs is a Pain in the Ass

Which pos is which?

hahaha

The rusting Dark Green OP is the Challenger

HUGE Profits using VLM

I turn down work that VLM can't handle

I don't clean Rat Nasty and Urine Trashed Shitholes anymore

And I don't want to work in that kind of Filth anymore

I CRB every Residential Carpet before I extract with an OP

It's not the 1990's anymore

It's 2023 and VLM Works

The encaps we have to work with today are phenomenal

I also have a tankless Orbot Vibe that I use for Residential

It's a wheels down OP

I have a Malish Driver made for the Vibe not the Velcro Driver

Malish Driver is more aggressive than Velcro Driver
