So I have a pro-team backpack vacuum (old round version) that has been with me since 1997. And now I got to the point that I needed to replace the motor brushes. I ordered the brushes and installed them but now I am told to do a "heat treatment". Apparently they are telling me that I should lower the amount of electricity and run the motor for a set period of time to heat treat the brushes. It was suggest that I pair another motor in parallel to reduce the speed. I do not have another motor so what do I do to do this.
Will it be okay if I ran it at normal speed with these new motor brushes?

I'v changed the brushes in many motors, never broke them in, never heard of that.
Does this happen when you installed yours. I got a bunch of sparks sparks 😬
