shear, the appropriate secondary agitation can be applied, as defined by The Cleaning Standards. The degree and magnitude of physical exertion is minimized by the use of a
glide thus prolonging the useful working life of the diligent cleaner. Of course, you’d have to have actually used a glide to know this. :wink:
'Shear', defn, any real fluid moving along solid boundary will incur shear stress proportional to the strain in the fluid.
'Sheer', defn, thin thread and/or low density of knit and which results in a semi-transparent and flimsy cloth.
