Had another one the other day, have, and used all of these. The one with no label is a quart of Hel Gel. None really performed as billed.
Of course I will still be getting some of John's stuff to try.
Vacant re-hab home. Dark brown tufted olefin, and in two rooms tufted poly.
All in good shape , for the setting. Cleaning was easy, but the paint and gum!!!!

First attempt at posting a picture. Hope I got it right.

In all honesty I think the best gum removal I have had is a jet adapted to QD, and taking the Vac hose and placing it right above the gum, with the jet hooked to my solution line and using the shut off valve to control the impact of hot water just really melts and pulls the gum right off the carpet without over wetting or over working the spot.
You also may think I am kidding about wd40, Now I wouldn't use it on some high end clients carpet but in rental properties it works very well......and not on JUST gum tar and other oil/grease spots it does very well too.

Yes, I can see that. But not using a port.
I often just use whatever chems and scrape using just my cuff. (oh, and those things with blue handles.!)

Stringbean! My dad has mentioned that guy to me. That's the first time I've seen any of his videos.

Anyway, I use ProSolve or LiquaGel.
Pro's Choice Gumbe Gone is the best I've used.

Back around 2001, I bought a Pro's Choice spotting kit that contained the GumbeGone Gum Remover. It was a clear gel with white crystals in it and would turn your fingers white if you got it on your skin.
Anyway, the first time I used it I was cleaning a Casino when I ran across 6 gum spots in an 8'x8' area. Pulled out the GumBeGone, rubbed it on the gum spots, put it back in the spotting kit and picked up my wand to rinse BUT, the gum spots had dissolved to the point that I couldn't find them.
That was the best gum remover I've ever used. I've heard that Pro's Choice changed the chemical make-up of the product for some reason. Not sure why. Think I'll order some of the new stuff and give it a try.

Citrus Gel and Pro-Solve Gel are the descendants of GumbeGone. The product went through an evolution.

forgot I had this from way back. Another failed product on gum. Took the pic after a lot of poking , scraping at a piece of gum , with all that product on it. (Groom's). My interlink swore it was the same as BP's at the time. Had it in the BP spot on the shelf.
Have both of CTI's as well.

what the heck are they making gum out of anyway.??LOL! You can have a big wad in your mouth for hours and hours, chewing- mashing along with all those pre-digestive juices (ENZYMES!!!!!) Swallow it , and find it later on if you care to look!:yawn:

I keep thinking I will bury some , in a marked place and see if it breaks down in the soil.
I think this is the real environmental crisis we are facing.
All this gum eveywhere!!!

I still have a EDIC gum Bazooka from when I was 7yo I believe.... I was tasked with hitting all the gum spots before pops came with the wand.... I forget the shitty spray we used on it... I do remember using Chemspec POG and having to dab it....

The high heat seems to work well for me, but we hardly run into gum nowadays....

The stuff worked awesome, as long as you thoroughly rinsed it. I believe it was California EPA laws that stopped the GumbeGone production.

A lot of stuff gets outlawed in California but not in the rest of the nation. So, what was the reason that Gunbegone got 86'd in Cali? And why wasn't it still offered to the rest of the states? I want it back. Best stuff ever invented for gum removal.

I don't live in Cali Mr. Hogbutt. I live in Oklahoma so I'm not regulated by Cali laws. I was just wondering why Cali law affected us folks in OK and Pigville America.

It was not the Cali EPA laws it turns out....it had to do with the production problems with the crystals. After that, the carpet shark was born.
