Whatever you want to call it, this is the reason I was smoking my drive belts had minimal heat, and the worst extraction I ever experienced...I believed I was cleaning it often...but I also believe once the weather got cold maybe the silt turned solid and blocked it....Whatever it did...im glad I figured it out.as you can see in the picture the mash were I scrape off the solid buildup...

My trucks have 3 each


We keep panty hose over them to keep them from clogging and easy to clean. The panty hose gets replaced a few times a year.

That's a great idea. I hate fooling with them, lint gets trapped behind them that is hard to reach.

You can unscrew them to get to it but you risk popping the filter off the threaded end. :dejection:

Make sure you spend a little more and buy the S/S.

Don't get the plain metal that can rust and corrode chunks into the blower.
