College rates, $$

With the college kids starting to call do you give them any type of a discounted rate?

I often want to but most of the places are trashed.

Those carpets haven't been vacuumed for a year. That's a lot of crud and beer to clean up. No discount for you.

I have one last child in college. (the reason I don't already have a van with pork holes) I go over and clean her apartment once a year, even though the apartment complex charges us for a local "cleaner" to clean it. They S-U-C-K! I'm certain they give a discount for cleaning "all" the management companies properties. My point is, if you find yourself having to give a discount to get business, you MIGHT need to reassess your priorities.

If after this reassessment you still find yourself willing to offer a discount, you might want to take the word "cleaning" out of your logo and print advertising.

Are you getting several calls from one development? Can you do a few jobs in one sitting?

Unless you have a time or efficiency savings, or if it could win your repeat and referral business (unlikely with college kids) I can't see the reason to do so.

Why offer any discount? I didn't read anything about doing multiple units in one shot. How much could a dorm room possibly cost to clean?

At the Twin's apartment complex they told them if the complex had to pay for cleaning it would be a $150.00 charge. BUT the cleaner that cleans them is only charging them $75.00 They make $75.00 on the renter if they have to make the call.

They asked me about cleaning when the girls moved in because they we unhappy with their cleaner. Yea I know why, at $75.00 its a slam bam!

I planned to OP it myself but the girls have been such pigs I think I'll have to send a crew to steam clean it.

Yes they are moving to a two bathroom apt in the same complex. Why do I care if its not HWE.

I'll get "dad of the year", just for moving them so they can have an extra toilet.

I adjust my marketing a little because we get SO MANY "how much to clean a 2 bedroom apartment" calls.

We turn so many away every Summer...

This is our bread and butter. No, we do not discount our price for the one off renter. However we do give a discount to the complex that has 1200 units turning every year. Know your numbers!
