We did this on several rugs at Lisa Wagners and Jim Pemperton's class this week. Worked very well.

Richard the buffer is because the suction is so strong it locks down on the carpet with out it. You get better results with it and no risk of damage at the suction point
Ron the rug fresh out of the wash pit and had only been squeegeed prior to putting the rescue mats on it. If look close you can see the water being pulled across the mats
