I did witness Chris air brush the field of a faded blue Chinese rug with some intricate designs. I believe the flowers in the photo would be no obstacle. It just requires time and patience and a good eye for color. None of which I possess.

Yes, we would have no problem to airbrush the color back in around the patterns of this rug. Any one of my trainees could also do it as I teach Persian Rug color restoration in our trainings. Here's a video of our trainees restoring the field areas of a Persian Rug at one of our recent trainings.
