Is there a way to work with all the area cleaners and perhaps have a website where they can post anonymously to list any bad customers to avoid?

Would it even be legal?

Whats considered a bad customer?

I have few customers that need to be handled with "kid gloves", I really dont care Im only there a few hours. As long as the check clears Im happy.

There is about 6 of us in this dust bowl town that keep in contact with each other about clients all the time...
We all have a list that we update each other with from time to time to help stay away from the quack jobs and the ones who try to skip out from paying.................

Ive been to thousands of houses and never saw that. Guess if I did get a customer like that I would refer it to my most hated competitor.

Would it be legal to have a website for locals and name BAD customers?

I would love the heads up to avoid a potential lawsuit or headache dealing with BAD customers.

Blacklist, that might bring you legal problems.

But the sharing of information is a good idea. That is exactly what the Credit Managers Association does in regards to commercial accounts. One member may get burned by the subject company finds all doors closed with legitimate suppliers.

I say monthly business meetings might be a good idea. Form an association. Have an agenda. Heck, you can talk about the newest annoying dweeb that is giving the industry a bad name. No liquor, have lunch after the meeting. Make a morning of it. Cleaners who know each other might be less likely to stab each other in the wallet.

Just my thoughts on the subject.
