CX 15 or Rotovac 360XL

I am looking at purchasing either a CX15 or a Rotovac 360xl to replace my rotary buffer.

I am interested to hear from people who are familiar with these machines.

Our work is mostly for home owners and in rental properties.

I like that the Cx-15 only weighs 20lbs and does not need power.

However I have heard that it can leave permanent patterns in the shape of rings, and I don't want to end up owning someone else's carpet. Do I need to be concerned about this?

Also how does the cleaning ability of the two compare?

Your feedback is appreciated.

Thanks

The Rotovac is going to give you that direct fiber agitation.

The CX 15 will do agitation with water pressure.

We like our Rotovacs with the brush head. If you are concerned about weight the 360i with Brush head is a great choice.

We have 360i units, XL units (all using Brush heads)

We also have the Zipper SS Super Spinners which will clean in both directions with dual spinners and less angle to the jets to prevent some of the crop circles... There is still times that a CRB unit can be of help to directly agitate those fibers.

The Zipper is a square footage killer and the SS Super Spinner can really eat up badly soiled carpets as the CX 15 can do too.

Selecting what might be right for you based off weight and problem types of carpet you are running into.

Personally we CRB and Zipper or wand most but there are those 10 to 15 percent of our jobs that will pop up we are glad to have a Rotary extractor

I just got done cleaning 20 large classrooms with my cx15. Its a great tool. It is not a two man operation, unless the guys don't know what they're doing. But if you are in need of one or the other, go with a rotary. Get the cx15 later. In my opinion it's more important and useful to have a good rotary on your van. I won't go into my personal feelings about rotovac, but there are good rotaries out there.

Running it with out a hose monkey will make you crazy

And you end up breaking stuff every 24 hours like clockwork.

Here it is. CX-15 hose control.

Although the cx15 can be effective, in that situation a zipper super spinner would be a lot faster. When you get to the bottom of your pass, you simply overlap and push it forward. The cx15 only cleans in 1 direction, the zippers cleans both ways. A little more money but think of the labor you'll save

I disagree. I had a zipper. It's slower unless you skip the dry passes. Good tool though.

Oh wait. I just saw you said super spinner. I have yet to play with one of those. May be my next toy.

Even if you push a Zipper forward, you still get a dry pass.. Crop circles and 1 direction cleaning is the downside of the CX15..

Yes you compensate/find your groove with any tool, but it seems like you skipped dry passes even with the CX15.. 20 classrooms solo, you were guaranteed moving..

Don't need it. It doesn't flood the crap out of the carpet like a high flow zipper. But you know what. I'm not going to debate it. It's been discussed to death.

Depends on your pressure.. I've used my Zipper with 15 flow, 10 flow and it leaves the carpet dryer than a wand or RE in less time.. But you knew that...

I like what I have heard about the zipper, but I live in New Zealand andI don't think anyone imports then into this country.

I am tempted to go with a Rotovac, particularly given that I can buy a brush head for it.

If you are mainly doing residential, the rotovac with the brush head will probably be the most effective tool.

If I had to choose between one or the other I'd get a rotary. That being said if anybody wants a lightly used cx-15 I have one... $700

Would have bought your 10" crb if I knew you was selling it...

How come you selling the CX15? According to Damon you don't need a dry pass and Zippers leave it too wet..........:eekk:

Rotary for residential. CX15 for wide open commercial spaces. Great cleaning and you can move quickly. Rarely a need for a dry pass.

I agree with him on the dry pass thing in most situations. Selling because I have a Zipper SS, so I know longer use it.

I couldn't stand that SuckX-15!

But Damon is probably right about it being on par with the Zipper time wise.

You idiots out there may not care about the wet streaks the over spray leaves, but quality conscious cleaners dry pass them up.

Or just go ahead and use the DevPro instead.

$1500 for my zipper wand. You pay shipping.
