Like many of you I send out reminder cards which I'm sure we all use to clean up our database when the card gets returned and marked by the PO with a yellow sticker saying "return to sender "Unable to forward" "not deliverable as addressed".

As soon as you get one back do you automatically delete it from your database? Because if you do you might be deleting customers that really are still at that address. I've gotten several back that I absolutely know the people are still there and I absolutely know the address is 100% correct - including the zip code.

Maybe it's true....you really can't TRUST the federal government to do it's job correctly!:stir:

But seriously it does make me wonder about all the ones I get back where I don't know the customer.

Are you guys cleaning up your database by this method?

Zip code is the biggest reason they used to come back for me.. Double check that. Here in Wisconsin we can check property tax records, that's how I found most of my mistakes.. I had a job last week that the guy give me the address for one city and it showed up on my GPS so I followed it out of the county into another city, it was right..

At first it sucks going through all of them card by card (I was getting alot back), but after you get them straightened out you will only get 1 or 2 back a month.

I;ve had my PO for over 30 years and I have people call and say that my PO # doesn't exist the mail was returned to them. I ask the PO why and they don't have answer. The mail people can't find mine some days and they work there. jz.

My brother has had some serious medical issues in his lifetime and now is literally tied to a certain drug for his life. Without it, he will die. It is VERY expensive and he orders it via mail to save money. Of course, he keeps as large a stockpile of it as he can legally, but that is only a 90 day supply. He has gotten within a few days of running out at times because of post office bungling. He's learned that if he calls and complains about it he will get all his mail sent to parts unknown and his medication will be delayed further. The post office is like the teachers unions. They know they're not going to be fired, so they just don't care.

As far as actual post office service, absolutely horrible!

I have a PO Box and I don't get mail every day, actually I have gone 2 weeks with nothing (not even junk mail) then one day it's stuffed so full I can hardly get the mail out.

The ladies at the counter are absolute bitc*es,and very disrespectful!! Everything is coming to the house here on out..

They probably put it back out to the mailman, i do it all the time.
Then businesses take you off the list .

I know blaming the govt is much easier ....
